How do you transform something stigmatised into something normalised?
It starts with hello.

Hello Period is a New Zealand–based period care brand on a mission to change the industry for good. Founded by two childhood friends, the brand challenges long-held perceptions around periods - shifting them from disposable to reusable, secretive to inclusive, and clinical to educational.

As a B Corp and Climate Positive certified business with a strong focus on social impact, Hello Period approached Made Studio to design an award-winning website that would go beyond e-commerce. The goal was to create a digital space that sparks conversation, empowers choice, and brings their values to life through design.

Championing openness, education, and joy, the website needed to feel more like your favourite skincare brand than a traditional healthcare platform - welcoming users at every stage of their sustainable period care journey.

The Result

The result is an engaging, education-led website that balances clarity with character. Colourful, casual, and conversational, the site acts as an ice-breaker - making traditionally “uncomfortable” topics approachable and easy to understand.

Products like period cups, discs, and underwear are brought confidently to the forefront, positioned as a new normal. An interactive education hub supports users with quizzes, detailed guides, illustrations, and video content - from measuring your cervix to learning how to use each product properly.

Design details reinforce the brand at every touchpoint. Bold typography, pastel and vibrant colour pairings drawn from product colourways, and playful pattern overlays inspired by recyclable packaging tie the physical and digital brand together. The result is an award-winning website that not only sells products, but also educates, empowers, and drives meaningful social impact - helping combat period poverty while reducing waste.

Mobile Experience

The mobile experience was designed with just as much care and intention. With a large portion of users accessing the site on their phones, layouts were optimised for clarity, flow, and touch-friendly interaction.

From streamlined navigation to easily digestible educational content, the mobile site maintains the same warmth and personality as desktop while making information and purchasing effortless on smaller screens. The result is a seamless, intuitive experience - ensuring Hello Period’s message, mission, and products are accessible anytime, anywhere.
